I am an assistant professor of mathematics at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I received my B.A. in mathematics from Princeton University in 1999, and Ph.D. in mathematics from Harvard University in 2003. I was a NSF postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, from 2003 to 2006.

My mathematical research interests are in representation theory and number theory; specifically, I work on the Langlands program, representations and modular forms on exceptional groups.

My educational interests include curriculum development, the professional development of secondary school mathematics teachers, interactions between linguistics and math education, and applications of semantic web technology to mathematics and education. I am the primary developer of the SlugMath Wiki.

My outside interests include whitewater kayaking, piano, occasionally surfing.

My Sandbox is used to test out some wiki editing.
